My first thought was "wow, that requires a very delicate approach."

I think of birth as being firmly on the "precious" side of life's
moments, but it's a tough moment. It involves more drama and pain than
do many ways of passing away, for example. And there are at least two
individuals intimately involved, sharing the toughness.

I think I would have emphasised "precious" over "fragile" for that
situation. Not because I'm afraid of showing the toughness of the
situation, but rather because birth ties associations to "hope", "new
start", "infinite potential" and "bright future". It's something about
the way my brain wants to weave a story, I suppose.
