Thanks Paul. Good question about 7124. The birders were trying to spot hoary red polls which had been reported at this feeder. No red polls to be seen here, common or hoary, and the caravan moved on. Since I wasn't occupied in looking for birds that weren't there, I took a few shots of the birds that were there. This is one. In other shots of the same bird, when he was facing away, there is more clearly yellow in the wings. In my National Geographic Field Guide to Birds - Michigan, it kinda looks like it might be a yellow-rumped warbler but it is the wrong time of year for it to be that far north and I suspect it is something else.
