Ann, Lynn and I recently attended a presentation at the Morton Arboretum (one of your favorites) by a Mamologist. It was a fascinating lecture on urban wildlife and he covered squirrels among other animals. Your picture looks like a gray squirrel not a brown one. He said the greys live in a forest habitat while the browns live at the edge of the forest, He had a one mile grid covering Oak Park with counts of squirrels and tree coverage over the years. Greys are smaller but more fierce. Browns are bigger and more cooperative. They even ganged up on his cat one day when it misbehaved. Very interesting... Regards, Bob S.
