I've been up to my eyebrows in work - mid-semester class prep and
grading and the design of the PDML book leave room for little else.
But I had to take a few minutes to post this PESO.
Some PDMLers may have heard this story before...
A few years ago Lisa and I went to Wales for a holiday. My parents
also went over and met us there, where we shared a cottage for a week.
There's a pub in Gwalchmai on Anglesey called the Gwalchmai Hotel
(they no longer rent rooms but the pub is still in business). My
father's parents owned the place many years ago so we stopped in for a
pint. My dad mentioned to the proprietors "I was born here" and they
asked "here in Gwalchmai?" "No" he replied, "here in this pub!" They
were, needless to say, astonished. They insisted he pose pulling a
pint of beer at the bar and here's the photo:

My dad just turned 81 in December. He still likes beer :)
