They should have provided motorcycle helmets, especially since it's a downhill ride. My guess is that what Ken really wore was more like this: http://www.bellsports.com/cycling/helmets/dirt/drop which is a glorified foam hat with a chin guard. (Don't get me started on the inadequate crap that passes for a bicycle "helmet".) >> They had 'mega brakes' installed on some heavy duty frame bicycles. > Sounds like a downhill bike. Heavy, balloon tires, single speed, coaster brake, upright handlebars. Now, remove the fenders, swap out the steel rims for aluminum and add hand-operated calipers front and rear. That's the typical Haleakala downhill bike. -- Scott Loveless http://www.twosixteen.com/fivetoedsloth/ __o _'\<,_ (*)/ (*) -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
