Didnt we used to use styrafoam cups for snouts?
I made a faux viewfinder for my Canon sx120 cutting out cardboard and
holding it with my thumb so that I could
keep the camera steady against my face . (The earlier Canon P&S I had,
had a view finder )
and another moneysaving thing I just discovered... though it is a bit
indelicate to mention.. I have something called a
Swiffer wet jet sweeper. I don't use the foul chemical liquid that
comes with it, but I do use the sweeper with vinegar and water
spritzed on the floor. However, the replacement pads for the sweeper
cost about 50 cents each... even at the cheapest places.
Sooo I have discovered that panty pads younger women use monthly and
older folk an pregnant women use work well and
are only about ten cents each.
I inherited two verilux lamps from a friend and got another as a
present - for difussers on them I tape printer paper on them...
the paper doesn't actually touch the lamp .
My "studio" is three panels of foam core 7 feet tall and 36" wide each
panel, hinged with white duct tape (of course)
I don't envy you shooting with stage lighting.

What are some of your projects where you used
cleverness to make something for a couple of bucks
rather than spending a lot more to get it ready made?
No pics, and only a pinch of cleverness involved:
I recently converted a rear lens cap into an adapter for mounting the
AF 160 FC ring flash on a reversed lens.

Lord Ducttape is far too modest.
