why not try putting a colour reference target next to it, and adjusting colours based on the target. That would at least show you if there was some sort of issue with the way your camera or monitor or whatever handles purple. The Leica M8 has problems because of the infrared thingy on the sensor, so it's conceivable that other sensors might have issues with some colours in some lighting.
