was not clear on Adorama's website.

I wonder if the charger uses that pin to determine when the battery is
charged (as opposed to just the charging current). Or does the
Li90 battery have a thermometer inside, and this pin is to control
the temperature?

It is not cheaper if you count the shipping as well (free shipping from
Adorama & buy.com, or combined cost from Cameta is smaller).
OTOH, I am a bit afraid of overly universal devices..
Very often that means they are not particularly good at either
functionality.
 
Note also that there is yet another one (different brand) at B&H, but the 
only review says that it overheats.
