I was 16 and living in the south bay area, California. I was a sophomore at Lynbrook High School and deeply in love with a Junior who knew not one jot of my existence. A bunch of us hung out in the back of a pick-up truck and wherever it went, we went. There was about 8 or 9 of us. In the summer they all came to see me off at the airport when my family repatriated.
