Hi all,

Here's a shot I took today of some Easter flowers ("flahrs" in
Kentuckese) growing along a fence row on the north side of the house.

with the foliage so dark (intentional?) i'm a bit put off -- not how i typically think of daffodils, but then the darkness does by contrast animate the tips of the fronds in an interesting way

Thanks, Steve.

The darkness of the foliage was semi-intentional. There was some nice sun running across the petals, and an unappealing background, so I stopped the aperture down two stops after metering the light in hopes of obliterating the background and preserving the sunlit parts. When I looked at it, I was pretty pleased with the results, thinking it had a "break of dawn" look to it.

The background is a fairly ugly, dog-eared slat privacy fence -- but not quite in the "rustic" sense of ugly just yet. I suppose a bit more greenery would give it more of a real spring daffodil look, though. But, getting that would have necessitated the bland, distracting background given my skill level.

Thanks for having a look. I'll see if I can finagle a better shot out of them sometime tomorrow.
