Can't say I've tried an F5, Aaron. But after taking a couple half-hour walks with a Super Program, MEII winder, and Vivitar 135/2.3 (24 oz.) slung around my neck (total weight: 3.5 lb), all supported by a wide Op-Tech stretch strap, I would guess Yes.
