I met Walt a little before noon at the Fremont Fry's where his friend had dropped him off. He seemed to think that it was the kind of store that he could have spent a little more time exploring.
We headed down to the steampunk convention at the Santa Clara convention center, met up with John, then eventually met up with Candace and Dave. We hung out for a bit, showed off toys, got some shots in the lobby and snuck into a couple of the dealer areas. By two PM Walt and I were getting quite hungry, so Walt, John and I went to St John's on Lawrence for burgers. After that we went to Hakone gardens, getting in about an hour of shooting before the end of the day there, and retired to Casa de Francis so Walt could borrow a little lens from John. Walt and I then had a light meal at Sneha, which I just learned means both "oil" and "love", and finished off the evening at Murphey's Law in Sunnyvale, where some friends of mine were playing. Several people on the list will be glad to hear that he got some photos of the cute girl with pink underwear. Tomorrow, we'll probably spend the day around Santa Cruz, and will try to get some photos of the fire spinners at sunset at the lighthouse.
