Actually the case weighs 1.5 times more than the lens. It is a run of the mill Otterbox type. There were two of these lenses in the bay from an official sigma outlet after photokina, one Canon, one Nikon. they went for 7K€ each compared to a list price of 20. seems demand or appreciation isnt that huge. not surprisingly so, seeing this is a specialist lens such as for vehicle mounted wildlife shooting etc.
