I'd like to share a similar story. When I bought my new LX, a list
member asked his niece in Japan to help out, and she was able to secure
what may have been one of the last standard LX produced. Knowing how
much I wanted it, and not wanting to risk losing it while I transferred
funds to her, she bought it and shipped it to me before I'd even had a
chance to get the funds transferred. I had the camera before she even
got paid!

And, while we're on this subject, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that
this sort of helpfulness has not been a rare occurrence.
