Very interesting. Seems to address many of my concerns over digital. "Since they only capture one third of the color, older mosaic-based image sensors must rely on complex processing to interpolate the two-thirds they miss. Interpolation leads to color artifacts and a loss of image detail. In fact, some digital cameras intentionally blur pictures to reduce color artifacts. Foveon X3 image sensors capture red, green and blue light at each and every pixel." The dust problem which some have said did not exist because they manufacturers dont worry about it - Sigma has a dust protector! (Although this must mean a slight light loss) The latest trend to reduce finder coverage is addressed - they have used their standard finder to even show outside the picture area. ie they havent masked down to the sensor area like many others, they just drew a rectangle to mark out the picture area. Sports finder they call it! All they need to do now is make it full frame and low noise at high ISO settings - Oh and make it in K mount - and all the problems will be solved! > -----Original Message----- > From: Patrick White [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: 21 February 2002 01:40 > To: pentaxdiscuss > Subject: Re: PMA Pentax News > > > "Pl Audun Jensen" wrote: > >Perhaps that digital binocular and the two 645 zoom lenses? > Don't hold your > >breath; the rumor mill says Pentax have nothing much for PMA. > > In that case, perhaps someone who is going there can > take a look-see at the > Sigma/Foveon digital body that there was some discussion > about recently and > report back? > I'd be seriously interested in one myself if only it > didn't have the Sigma > lens mount on it (been less than impressed with every example > of Sigma lens > mechanics I've held). > > later, > patbob ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) > - > This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
