From the New York Times...
"There were 92 tornadoes reported across North Carolina on Saturday
night. At least 14 people were killed and 50 seriously injured in
Bertie, N.C., according to state officials. Major avenues in
downtown Raleigh were blocked by fallen trees. A Lowe’s store, in
Lee County, above, was damaged extensively."

One of them apparently was fairly near my house. I heard it ... the

Haven't been able to get any real news. My cable was still off at home
when I left for my internship this morning.
Came down to Asheboro after I got off work to make my weekly check on
my apartment & the internet is on here, but none of the news gives me
any overview. It's all about specific homes in some subdivisions that
were destroyed, but no context to tell me where the subdivisions are
located.
Even the TV news reports don't tell me anything other than some
Raleigh PD spokesman droning on and on and on about how a tree fell on
a trailer and this child was in this room and that child was there and
this other child was ... all gory details I don't need and nothing to
tell me where the damage is.
Local newspaper has close up images of damaged buildings, but no
captions to tell me what building it was, or where it's located.
Not names for streets that are closed.
