What type of lens are they?  The lens has to be able to transmit the focal
length info to the body, so only the newer lens would work.  I just tried
it with 28-70 f/4, and it works as expected - change colour according to
1/fl rule.  When I set the shutter speed at 1/45, I can see it change
colour when I zoom in and out around the 50mm mark; at 1/30, it changes
colour around the 28mm mark.
