FxCamera is kind of the Android answer to Hipstamatic. It's not as full-featured, but it's worth a look. There's also a Photoshop app that allows for some basic image manipulation. I'm not terribly familiar with HTC's offerings, but Android in general seems to, or at least used to (I'm on 2.1), suffer from a lack of file browser. ES File Explorer and ES Task Manager are musts. If you do the social networking thing, Tweetdeck is nice way to integrate them all into one app. Facebook's official app is a resource hog, Twidroyd isn't too terribly bad and the official Foursquare app is actually pretty good these days. If you Geocache you absolutely must, without a doubt, install c:geo. One developer, on his own time, has built this application that not only beat the official app to market, but it's still better. Plus, the Geocaching overlords are so hell bent on killing it that you're not even allowed to write "c:geo" in their forums without suffering the wrath of the, dundundaah, forum moderators. I use MyTracks to log my bike rides. Christie gave me a fancy, highfalutin GPS device for Christmas, but the phone is with me anyway, so that's what I generally use. A couple others that have come in handy from time to time: Apps Installer for installing packages you didn't get from the Market, Barcode Scanner (you really need this), Quick Settings, and Overbite for Android. I'm not sure how anyone can live without Overbite. It isn't in the Market, but you can get it here: http://gopher.floodgap.com/overbite/d?android As far as I know, every app I've mentioned is free (as in beer). -- Scott Loveless http://www.twosixteen.com/fivetoedsloth/ __o _'\<,_ (*)/ (*) -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
