Nope. But you can do the mirror lock-up trick* and then use the self-timer to take the shot. This is how I usually do it becaus I often don't have a cable release handy. *The mirror lock-up trick works on the MX, and the KM/KX/K1000: If you flick your finger down/against the shutter releast just right, you'll trip the mirror mechanism but not the shutter. Then you can push the shutter release down all the way to take the shot.
