Rule #1 in Nature Photography: Don't approach animals! This will only spook them and cause them to flee. Sit back patiently and let ~them~ approach ~you~. Have a smoke (repels mosquitoes) and enjoy the day. When you think a wee furry thing might be in the viewfinder, fire your remote and bingo: you're a nature photographer!
