My copy "Portrait Of A Decade" arrived and it's f&&ked up! I want a
replacement.
I know some of you have experience in the world of bookselling &
publishing. I'm wondering if there's any special terminology I need to
use in describing the problem to the place I bought the book from?
The copy I have is missing whole sections & other sections are duplicated.
It has the acknowledgments, the introduction, the table of contents & a
title page. The first chapter begins on page 3. But after page 4, the
next page is page 53. The whole first part of the book is missing.
I have pages 53 through 68, then it skips to page 85. Pages 69 through
84 are missing.
I have pages 85 through 100, then it skips back to page 69, so that I do
have pages 69 through 84, they're just not in order. And I've got
duplicate pages 85 through 100.
Starting with page 101 the rest of the book seems to be in order.
There is nothing wrong with the binding. There are no loose pages or any
gaps where pages might have come out of the book.
It appears the book was assembled with the missing and duplicated pages
when it was printed and bound.
Does the publishing business have any technical term for this kind of
error in assembly that would help me to explain what the problem is when
I contact the seller.
