I was shooting a presentation function at the local harness racing track
and I could see this sunset developing. A break in proceedings coincided
with the sunset's best moment so I went out on the balcony and took the
shot.
The balcony rail provided a steadying rest and along with the Pentax
shake reduction allowed a shutter speed of 1/20s.
Ash from Chilean volcano traveled around the southern hemisphere and
disrupted air traffic but probably helped this display.
