That's pretty cool to look at, but I would never try it--though, I would be interested in taking apart an unfixable lens just to see the inside. But fixing, no, hard to see the little bits these days. cheers, Christine

In all of my Googling to see how to properly do the repairs I did last night, I also came across this tidbit. Scary work, but might be useful someday to anyone who has a "dead" SDM lens.

Not for the faint of heart, but nothing mind-bogglingly complicated here if you're patient and detail-oriented.
