There weren't many close plays on the bases during this game. This wasn't really close, but I did get the ball (barely) in the frame with the first baseman: http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=13514688 .
I had limited time, as I was attending a party in one of the "luxury boxes" behind home plate. I plan to go to the ball park by myself, so I can walk around and concentrate on waiting for those action photo opportunities. As you say, it is a matter of timing and even more a matter of patience.
