I agree. There are also those in this country who would make it harder to get in, a sentiment I disagree with wholeheartedly. We are a country of immigrants (even the First Nations People came - many thousands of years ago - from Asia). Immigrants make our country stronger. They don't ~take~ jobs from "Canadians", they either do the menial jobs the rest of us wouldn't do, or (as so often happens) if they can't find jobs they start their own businesses which make more jobs for everyone and increase our country's wealth. They don't drain the social welfare system as they tend not to rely on it as heavily as those who've been here for generations. Despite bigoted comments to the contrary, they don't add to an increase in crime - in fact new Canadians tend to have lower crime rates than average. I say "throw open the doors", we have lots of room, come share our wealth, make us stronger! Some thoughts on this long weekend for both Canada and the USA. cheers, frank -- "Sharpness is a bourgeois concept." -Henri Cartier-Bresson -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
