I agree.  There are also those in this country who would make it
harder to get in, a sentiment I disagree with wholeheartedly.

We are a country of immigrants (even the First Nations People came -
many thousands of years ago - from Asia).  Immigrants make our country
stronger.

They don't ~take~ jobs from "Canadians", they either do the menial
jobs the rest of us wouldn't do, or (as so often happens) if they
can't find jobs they start their own businesses which make more jobs
for everyone and increase our country's wealth.

They don't drain the social welfare system as they tend not to rely on
it as heavily as those who've been here for generations.  Despite
bigoted comments to the contrary, they don't add to an increase in
crime - in fact new Canadians tend to have lower crime rates than
average.

I say "throw open the doors", we have lots of room, come share our
wealth, make us stronger!

Some thoughts on this long weekend for both Canada and the USA.
