Neat moth capture.... I would have had a field day attempting to get a
capture of these moths.

Subject: PESO - Moth

There were thousands upon thousands of these all over the park by the lake
this past weekend. From afar they just look like purple-winged moths, about
and inch or two long. It's only when you get closer up that you see their
orange heads and iridescent abdomens (I think that's the abdomen - below the
head). They spend most of their time in the air, and if they're perched
they will flit off once you get closer than about 2 or 3 feet, so I didn't
get as many good shots as I'd have liked. This one was one of the better
ones:

Hope you enjoy. The insect-catching birds certainly enjoyed; they were
having a field day!

Comments welcome.

cheers,
frank
