Hi Christine, I too have been frustrated with fill flash on my K20D, whether using the Built-in flash, or the Metz 58AF-1 (some say better than the Pentax AF540FGZ) or the Quantaray QTB-9550D w/Promaster 5050DXR PTTL module. In fact the Built-in flash gave better results in the Green Mode on my K20D. Request an easy Guide - something like Fill Flash for Dummies - with a K20D/K-7/K-5. from a Pentaxian friend. This may be specific to fill flash for portraits or a group of four - bright sunny day - subject in the shade.
