I don't have the most reliable ears, having had mastoidectomies in both ears, and everything scooped out and eardrums patched up on various occasions, but even I can tell that the E-1 is quieter than the M8 - the M8 shutter sounds like a guillotine falling sometimes.. Not at all like the old shutter on the film bodies.
