So I was talking more photos of the gear I got (of and with) and a
couple of other things yesterday - put it in the card reader , put the
card reader into its little USB port, as always, and nada... that little
chime that goes off when I do this doesn't chime... I try three times --
then I put the card back into the camera, so wont forget, and
I get Memory card error aarrgh.
The pins look ok in the card reader which is a Vivitar series 1 72 in1
Hi speed card/reader writer.
The card is a 2 mb CF card (remember, my camera is istD) when I put it
into the camera I got the Memory card error message.
The good news is, that except for the photos I took yesterday of
equipment and a couple of chotskas and Ashley are already loaded onto
the computer... nothing I couldn't reshoot...
The bad news is I have no clue what to do to do to make the card reader
come back to life. I put another CF card into it and still no go...
I'm thinking somewhere on my computer there is something to explore to
make it all better but can't remember anything.
anyone have any ideas? which is to say, "help!"
The biggest problems I've seen with CF cards is bent pins on the card
readers. I have (rarely) seen pins from the reader break off and stick
in the card.
Look at the card itself to see if any of the pin holes are blocked up.
Look into the card reader to see if any of the pins are bent over.
