I don't make duotones every day and it was interesting discovery for duotone tab on my favorite raw converter - ufraw v0.18. In channel mixer mode you can select weight of each color channel to resulting duotones, thus changing sky color to such dramatic levels while preserving skin shade of gray normal. I used such technique earlier in GIMP but its handy to have it in raw converter already.
