OK - Here's my current schedule:
Wed 10th Aug: Arrive at Logan at 05:00 on the redeye from California.
Met at airport by friends.
The weather forecast suggests possible rain & cloudy,
so I believe the plan is to check out a museum or two
(after breakfast, of course). Then head up to NH to
Lichfield, which is where we will be staying.
Thu 11th: Nothing currently planned, and the weather looks to
be better than Wednesday. Probably spend some time
seeing what's changed in the southern NH area since
we moved away in 1995.
Fri 12th: No definite plans. While the track is open for practice,
I don't think we'll be heading up there unless we come up
with something else to do in the vicinity (of Loudon, NH).
Sat 13th: At the track for practice and qualifying.
Sun 14th: Race day (weather permitting, which looks probabable).
Mon 15th: Rain date for the race, but otherwise nothing planned.
Tue 16th: Open. This would be the best day for me to spend some
time in or around Boston; we could even get a hotel near
the airport for the night (we fly out on Wednesday).
So my preferences for dates would be:
1st choice: Tuesday 16th.
2nd choice: Friday 12th.
3rd choice: Monday 15th (unless pre-empted by the race being delayed)
Who else would be available (and interested) on any of those dates?
I'm not up for a prolonged hike, so the Freedom Trail is probably out,
but I wouldn't mind getting some boring Boston tourist-type shots;
the last time I was in downtown Boston was back in the film era.
Or if anybody else has other suggestions please let me know!
I might even drag along my host for the week. He shoots with a D90,
but we could be polite and not mention that .,..
