Walt's "character lines" photo brought to mind some pictures I just posted to flickr yesterday.
This one sucks a bit less than the others: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ellarsee/6027658905/ coincidentally it seems to be shot with a K, or M, 50mm lens. Why am I posting a picture that I describe as "sucks a bit less"? A bunch of us were at a weekly dinner, or "munch". I had just gotten Luiz's K-r to test for him, and was showing off it's high-ISO capability. These pictures were shot at 6400, not because I had to, but merely because I could. They weren't anything special, but like everything else got filed in Lightroom, just because. Long story short, about a week ago, after nobody had heard from him for about a week, a coworker went to check on Al, and found his body in the middle of his living room floor. They're guessing a heart attack or a stroke. Al and I weren't close, but it's a small town and over the past few years I doubt we went a month without crossing paths at least once. There was a time period where we'd both show up at the same diner shortly before closing on a regular basis. He was one of those guys who was almost annoyingly nice. The point, if any, of this ramble, is that when you do these silly restaurant table portraits, even if they aren't great, they're worth keeping, and also worth tagging with the person's name, because there might not be any better pictures of them around. -- Larry Colen [email protected] sent from i4est -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
