Thank you Boris. I liked especially the last one. I really should try doing something similar soon; it is unfair to the enablees (I guess English can digest that last word).
I believe you and I are enablees (those were were enabled, like postal addressees) whereas the people who "inflicted" gear upon us are enablers... Therefore I suspect that you got it the other way around.
Could you please elaborate upon this: "My K-5 in HyperP mode keeps the shutter speed at no slower than 1/60 sec after which it starts upping the ISO". Is this easy to adjust? Could reading the (already far away!) manual will be of any help?
Certainly, sir. I generally work in HyperP mode. In this specific case, there is no stop down metering - if you click the aperture on the lens, it closes at once. So if there is enough light, K-5 would provide a shutter speed as per metering results. When I close the aperture or there is not enough light, it would naturally change the shutter speed to compensate. Once it reaches 1/60 sec (roughly 1/focal length rule), it does not go any slowert. Instead, it starts pumping up ISO. I don't remember on the spot what is the setting of "auto-ISO" on my K-5, but I would believe it is "slow" - that is, "be hesitant when pumping up ISO".
I hope this clarifies the matter. Boris -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
