I agree it reminds me of a Coopers Hawk.

Subject: PESO -- Backyard Hawk

I drive all over the countryside to try to get decent photographs of
wildlife so what decides to sit in a tree in the backyard?

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1604247/PESO/PESO%20--%20backyardhawk.html

Equipment: Pentax K20D w/smc Pentax A*300mm f4.0 and smc Pentax AF 1.7x
Adapter.

Note: I'm not too certain of the identity of this particular hawk, could be
a Red Tailed Hawk, but his coloring doesn't seem to quite red enough. He
could be a Broadwinged Hawk, but the once again the markings don't look
quite right. He might even be a Merlin but actually seemed to be too big...

As usual comments are welcome but may be totally ignored.
