Thanks. Made my day. I thought it looked so weird, no one would figure it out.
It's actually dried weeds, grass, reeds, whatever. Took a friend to shoot there. Normally that area is filled with water and ducks. A duck club is near by. So it's a marshy area that is sometimes filled, sometimes dry. I don't know why the grass dried in curls but it did, all over the place. I walked on it to get closer to the stump, sans green grass on the bank, a different kind, pretty sure, and it squished and I slide a bit. Lots of mud underneath. Weird, huh?
