Thanks for looking and thanks for you kind comments, Rick and Paul. The "story": I have a diner blog that I add to occasionally. ( http://dinerdan.posterous.com/ ) For a number of reasons, I have not added new images to it lately.
Saturday my wife and I went to a dog show in North Jersey, about an hour and twenty minutes away from home. We have an Alaskan Malamute puppy, and although he was too young to be in the show, we took him with us for the experience of meeting a lot of strange people and dogs. We were also there to reconnect with the local Alaskan Malamute club. On the way North, we passed this diner, and I commented to my wife that I wanted to stop and photograph it on the way home, since we didn't have time to stop on the way to the show. Unfortunately, we stayed much longer at the show than expected, and my wife was anxious to get home and exercise the puppy. OK, I said, but slow down as we drive by, and I'll try to get an image through the car window. I practices on a number of other buildings on the way, erasing those images after I had a chance to look at them and decide whether it was possible to get the shot I had in my mind and how to make it work. As we approached, I fired off three shots in quick succession, and then fixed up the best to the extent I could in PS. It came out better than I had expected, but I guess that makes up in part for the many shots tha disappointed me.
