Well, they are probably not trumpeting that digital will surpass film, then, either, are they? Of course it's a theoretical argument -- digital, for most practical applications, is good enough right now. One supplier we deal with just dropped their line of small-lab film developing chemistries, because the studios they were selling them to have all moved to digital.
