I also polled the board of the organisation whose publication it is, and the majority felt that Times New Roman, fully-justified, was the best for legibility. One, who also edits several other journals, mentioned that some readers are asking for larger font sizes, even up to 12-pt. for body text. Don't think I'll go quite that far, though.
