BEWARE....... Last night, I checked MS for Win98 upgrades, and was offered a 'Critical Upgrade' for MS IE5.5. I downloaded it, and it promptly screwed up Windows bootup. MS Explorer kept coming up with an Illegal error, and locked up. You can't even use safe mode.
If you are unfortunately in the same boat, just use your System Recovery Disk, and enable CD ROM(2nd Option), then change to the CD, and run set-up. I did this and did not save the old windows, and my old settings were restored once Windows finished reloading(after an hour). Run System Cleanup and Defrag and all should be ok.
