Speaking of turning 40. A friend hired me to take photos at her 40th
birthday party a week ago. I mentioned the grief my K-5 gave me with the
battery readings. She'd always wanted a masquerade, and she pulled out
all the stops. I had a little portrait studio set up outside, plus was
taking available light photos inside.
This probably isn't my best photo of the night, but the subject matter
might be the most appreciated by a large percentage of the list members:

She's a friend of the birthday girl, and an English professor in her
50's at one of the local universities. I was, to put it mildly,
favorably impressed by her aesthetic appeal. My snapshot doesn't do her
justice.
