Chris: I'm Jersey born and bred, and proud of it. Only left for College (our greatest export has always been college students) military service, and vacations.
My remarks to which you cite were, of course, in jest. You are correct: New Yorkers talk that way, not folks from Jersey. I like to perpetuate the stereotypes, however, to keep all those Midwesterners from discovering what it's really like, and then moving here and trashing up the place. In a way, it's good that most Americans only know New Jersey from the Turnpike and the Sopranos. Let them laugh at us, while we enjoy the hills of Somerset, Morris and Hunterdon, the Great Swamp, the Pine Barrens, the woods of Sussex and Warren, and the great beaches of LBI, Stone Harbor, Avon-by-the-Sea, etc. Chris Niesmertelny wrote: > Dan, > > You're from Jersey.
