G'day all
I'm putting together a Blurb book of my recent travels in central
Australia.
I have one image, a panorama, that I'd like to use across two facing
pages by splitting the image into two equal halves, but I'm a bit
concerned about 'losing' part of the image in the middle due to the book
binding. I estimate that the binding will hide almost a centimetre of
the middle of the image.
The question.
Would it be practical to leave a gap between the two halves of the image
so that the gap would fall in the binding area and minimise the amount
of the panorama that would be 'lost' to the binding?
Has anyone tried this? The only problem that I can see is working out
how much of a gap to leave - I obviously don't want to make the gap too
wide and end up with a blank strip down the middle of the image. I'm
thinking of a conservative gap of about 3-4 mm on each half.
Why not split it into two photos that overlap by the amount you think
will be hidden in the binding?
