I've got it around somewhere & use it when necessary, but I'm just a
little afraid it might fog the plastic screen over the LCD or seep
around the edges and foul the electronics.
And the one time I *did* try using it on the LCD screen, I ended up
having to use the alcohol wipes to remove the residue of Goo-Be-Gone
before I could get a new "screen protector" to stick properly.
Plus although I am not yet diabetic, the alcohol wipes have other
medicinal functions, and I don't have to go looking for where I put the
bottle when I need one [see my recent rant about the brand new pack of
spare batteries I keep in the outside pocket of my camera bag ... the
ones that *ARE NOT THERE*].

Goo-Be-Gone is a wonderful product that melts all that residue -
simply wipes off.

I think gaffers tape would leave less residue.
absolutely, and it seems to do the best with being re used
I've found that clear packing tape also makes a good protective cover
for the LCD screens. It's inexpensive and works a whole lot better
than any of the commercial covers I've tried. The residue comes off
easily with alcohol wipes - the kind they rub on your arm before they
stick you at the doctor's office.
I am diabetic so always have a couple boxes of those... well I am
always buying a couple it seems anyway. Remarkably handy to have around
