Interesting.  BTW, it's Takeshi, not Takashi?  

The few japanese musicians that cross my radar seem to be very creative in 
their genre.  Some years back I was listening to KFJC and they were playing a 
bunch of music from the Surfcoasters.  I tend to find surf rock pleasant, but 
it's not something I go out of my way to listen to, but I was so impressed by 
them that when I've heard their music since, I've been able to immediately 
recognize it.

I almost bought a Sigma 30/1.4 off of ebay, but it was damaged in shipping, and 
I haven't run across another for a good price since, at least not when I had 
money to buy one.  It's definitely on my radar.
