You're definitely right there. When I've gone shopping for bikes I've always waited for the inevitable pre-season / end-of-season sales. It's not helped by the distribution structure either. The only shop we had here that direct-imported their bikes closed down last year. Sometimes I look at our local auction site to drool over high-end road bikes that people are selling off.
