I suppose all of these posts on the 'new' Pentax Gallery are getting a

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this but when looking through my
gallery, I've noticed that the images look quite soft - certainly more
so that I remember from the 'old' PPG. After thinking about it for a
while I've realised that the 'new' gallery dynamically resizes images to
fit the available real estate in the browser window. This means that if
one is viewing on a reasonably large monitor (say 19' or more) with the
browser maximised, the image will be displayed at a size larger than the
size of the original image. For example, on my 23" widescreen monitor,
landscape format images are displayed at about 1140 x 760 pixels whereas
the original size of these images is only 900 x 600. No wonder they
look soft!

This problem won't affect images uploaded to the 'new' PPG as the size
limits now require a minimum image height of 900 pixels.

Just another little observation......

Not just soft, but artifacty too. I noticed that all the images I looked at seemed "crispy", distorted, like they'd been resized with a crappy algorithm.

I'd say this re-design has been done without the guidance of any picky photogs or artists. "Hey guys, my young nephew is a web-thingy wizard. Yeah he's the one glued to his Xbox. Let's ask him if he'll do it."
