The appeal of bingo is a mystery to me.

My Rotary Club runs two bingo games a year as fund raisers.  We draw
about 300 players.  The prizes on Longaberger baskets and Vera Bradley
handbags.  Everyone gets a tchotchke as a door prize.  We sell
sandwiches, drinks and snacks, but most of the players come is groups
and bring their own food:  every thing from cookies, chips and
pretzels to shrimp, meatballs, and antipasto platters.

There is a lot of work involved, but we clear about $10,000 for a one day event.
