Stowe is somewhere I've always meant to visit. Like many other places...
It's been a good autumn for this sort of stuff; up here the leaves
started turning in late September after the first chill. But then it
warmed up again (dramatically) and they sort of froze (groan) in a
halfway house of changed colour but not dropping until late this week.
Everything is starting to exfoliate (groan again) rapidly now and there
will be none left by the end of this week. I can't remember it going on
for six weeks or so before.
