The facades of the buildings reflected are cast iron or have cast iron components. I used to work in one about 45 years ago, it was in terrible shape then. Unfortunately most of the buildings were in very bad condition. A local developer has purchased the block and wants to build a new hotel and office building. Initially he wanted to demolish the entire group of buildings, but has agreed with the preservation powers and local government to save the facades and incorporate them into the new design.
