last Saturday i visited the Forney Transportation Museum in Denver for the
first time; it was well worth the visit, though seeing some of the vehicles in
motion would have really enhanced it; i was impressed by everything from one of
two surviving 1817 Draisienne velocipedes (bikes without pedals) to the 600-ton
Big Boy locomotive; the bulk of the collection is vintage cars, plus
motorcycles and trucks; they have a temporary exhibit of mid-century Mercedes
as well, but among the cars i think i best like Amelia Earhart's 1923 Kissel
